The AAPT submitted it's response to the Government Consultation "Promoting professionalism, reforming regulation" on the 24th January 2018
The government has today published its response.
The consultation set out proposals to make professional regulation faster, simpler and more responsive to the needs of patients, professionals, the public and employers.
The government will "take forward legislative changes to the regulators’ fitness to practise processes and operating framework and believe that this will realise the greatest benefits for regulatory bodies, registrants and the public"
The AAPT will now consider the consultation outcomes and where appropriate liaise with all relevant stakeholders, as AAPT is committed to the aim of statutory registration for APTs.
