Honorary Fellow of the Academy for Healthcare Science

The AAPT are delighted to announce that past-Chair and current Council member Ishbel Gall FAAPT has been made an Honorary Fellow of the AHCS



Academy Honorary Fellowship is awarded for:

  • An outstanding contribution, in a leadership role, to the formation, development and operation of the  AHCS and/or
  • An outstanding contribution, in a leadership role, to the development and delivery of Healthcare Science in the UK or in one or more of the devolved nations of the UK. International nominations can be considered if the contribution has influenced the delivery of healthcare science in the UK and or in one or more of the devolved nations of the UK and/or
  • An outstanding contribution, in a leadership role, to the significant promotion within the profession and/or in raising public awareness of the contribution of Healthcare Science in the UK or in one or more of the devolved nations of the UK.
  • An outstanding contribution by individuals who have worked for the AHCS, either as a staff member or in a voluntary capacity

Prof. Brendan Cooper, AHCS President commented:
On behalf of the AHCS Professional Bodies Council, we were delighted to receive such high-quality  submissions this year and thoroughly congratulate these leading healthcare scientists and supporters of AHCS  on achieving their Honorary Fellowship. We encourage them to continue their promotion of healthcare  science and scientists at every opportunity.”

Prof. Stephen O’Connor, AHCS Honorary Fellows Co-Ordinator added:
We have developed, with the AHCS Professional Bodies Council, a robust and fair Honorary Fellowship  process that celebrates all that is great about healthcare science in the UK. We are delighted with the  response of our scientists to the enormous challenges of the pandemic, but celebrate their fundamental  achievements and commitments over many years.
