Birmingham Women's Hospital - Mortuary team award winners

The BWH mortuary received the West Midlands Police public protection units 2019 team award on 2nd November



Sarah Davis FAAPT and Mortuary Manager said, "The unit use our mortuary to conduct forensic post mortems for babies under the age of 2 years. We always try our best in making sure we support the police, keep in mind there is a family waiting for the return of their baby and most importantly the deceased is cared for with the upmost respect and dignity.We are all very proud of the service we provide and this award confirms we are doing a good job".

West Midlands Police are quoted "I am pleased to say that following a recent reward and recognition panel your team have been award a Public Protection Unit Commander’s Excellence in Service Award. This award has been given as your team provides a high quality service. You have demonstrated professionalism which has helped improve confidence and satisfaction across our multi agency partnership. You have collaboratively shown dignity and respect to all the children and families you support. West Midlands Police recognise the significant contribution you have made in this challenging area of business. You are the unsung heroes of the child death world and for this we commend your team"
