CPD Approval Application - new AAPT feature

The AAPT Council have approved an updated version of the CPD approval application and process

This application is for organisers to apply for AAPT CPD credits for activities that are relevant and educational for Anatomical Pathology Technologists and other mortuary staff.

A full programme, or overall summary, for the activity should be attached to this application for the AAPT to allocate the appropriate number of credits. On average, this will relate to 1 credit per hour. Please complete ALL sections of the application.

Failure to submit sufficient detail may cause a delay in upload and advertisement.

The approval process

Acknowledgement of Receipt of Applications

Upon receipt of the application and accompanying documents from the activity organiser, the AAPT Secretary will review the received documentation to check all is in order.

An acknowledgement email will be sent to the applicant to inform that the application is now at the approval stage.

Approval

The full documentation will be sent to the AAPT CPD approval reps with a suggested credit rating (1 per hour of activity). The reps as of June 2023 are AAPT Council members Tarot Noble-Harris FAAPT and Gemma Norburn RSciTech MAAPT.

The reps will be given seven days to approve the application and inform the AAPT Secretary of the outcome. The official Application Form AAPT CPD Approval contains an Office Use Only field and this must be completed and returned to the AAPT Secretary.

Post-Approval

If applicable, the activity will be added to the Events listing on the AAPT website and this will include the credit allocation. The AAPT Council will receive a list of successful CPD activities at each Council meeting (usually two-three times a year).

The applicant will be informed of the outcome by email and sent the template AAPT CPD Certificate of Attendance.
