On the 20th November 2015, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT held its second meet and greet day for students enrolled at the Trust on the Level 3 Diploma in APT.
The day again proved very rewarding, allowing the students to be able to meet some of the AAPT/RSPH external assessors so they could ask questions about the external assessment process and practical portfolio requirements – this is with a view to making the assessment process a little less daunting! For those students who haven’t been able to meet their assessor, the assessors do get in touch to make sure everyone has the same opportunity of having a conversation before the day of the assessment visit.
External assessors are an integral part of the qualification process and the small (but growing) army of assessors will be visiting the students from both current Level 3 diploma courses, North Tees & Forth Valley, in the New Year to watch trainee APTs at work and to review their portfolio of evidence to ensure they meet the syllabus requirements set by the RSPH and AAPT.
The Level 3 diploma qualification no matter where the course is held is the same qualification set by the RSPH and both North Tees and Forth Valley are committed to ensuring students pass with flying colours!
A very special thank you must be made to AAPT council member Emma Romeling for all her hard work and commitment in allocating all the students with assessors – with almost 40 to place it was no easy task.
If you are student and would like to discuss the external assessment process or if you have any concerns or worries please remember the AAPT has a dedicated student representatiove, Frances Ciardini who is always happy to lend an ear and offer support. Frances has successfully navigated the Level 3 Diploma course so her knowledge of the process is current. Frances can be contacted via the main AAPT email
