AAPT Strategy 2026-2030
The Association of Anatomical Pathology Technology (AAPT) is pleased to launch its Strategy 2026–2030: Building a recognised, confident and future-focused profession.
The new strategy sets out AAPT’s vision for the next four years and provides a clear framework for how the Association will support the development, recognition and future of Anatomical Pathology Technology.
At its heart is AAPT’s ambition to be the credible and respected expert voice for Anatomical Pathology Technology, protecting the public, supporting APTs and shaping the future of the profession.
The strategy identifies six key areas of focus:

Developing a confident, recognised and professionally valued workforce

Building a stronger, sustainable and effective AAPT

Being the credible and influential voice of APTs
Over the next four years, AAPT will build on more than two decades of professional activity, with priorities including progressing the case for statutory regulation, increasing professional registration, strengthening education and assessment, supporting advanced practice and career progression, developing Best Practice Guidance, encouraging APT-led research and strengthening the Association itself.
The strategy will be supported by a detailed in-house delivery plan and reviewed annually by AAPT Council, ensuring that progress can be measured and priorities refreshed as circumstances and opportunities change.
