The Annual Educational Event (AEE) is a one-day conference specifically designed to support and enhance the professional development of Anatomical Pathology Technologists (APTs), mortuary assistants, and other related professionals.
The experiences of APTs can vary widely depending on workplace, specialty, and geographical location. This event provides a valuable platform to bring everyone together in a safe, confidential, and supportive learning environment. It also offers the opportunity to network with like-minded colleagues, as well as professionals you may not otherwise have the chance to meet.
Our commercial exhibition is always a popular feature of the event. Delegates can engage directly with industry representatives to explore the latest products and innovations, and gain a clearer understanding of how they are used in practice. This is particularly beneficial when preparing business cases to support the upgrade or modernisation of mortuary facilities and equipment.
The event concludes with a dedicated opportunity to socialise, allowing attendees to share experiences, reflect on challenges, and learn how others have approached similar situations. This relaxed setting provides well-earned downtime and valuable peer support. Many delegates use this time to reconnect with colleagues met at previous AAPT or related events, debrief on the year, and discuss shared challenges and practical solutions with others who truly understand the unique nature of the role.
The 2026 Annual Educational Event will take place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at the Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel & Spa, 119 Norfolk Street, Sheffield, S1 2JE.
