The Diploma in Forensic Human Identification, offered by the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences (AFMS), is a comprehensive five-week online course designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge of forensic identification techniques. CPD approved by the AAPT.
The course covers key areas such as forensic anthropology, DNA analysis, odontology, fingerprinting, facial recognition, gait analysis, and legal issues related to human identification, offering over 38 hours of lectures.
Delivered through a combination of live Zoom sessions and pre-recorded lectures, the course allows participants to learn at their own pace while engaging in interactive discussions via the Moodle platform. Students will develop both scientific and legal knowledge, gaining insight into complex forensic scenarios such as clandestine graves, mass disasters, and humanitarian perspectives on identification.
