Why join the AAPT?
Representing anatomical pathology technologists
The AAPT represents members who work in both hospital and public mortuaries and is acknowledged as the guiding body to represent and develop the healthcare science field of anatomical pathology technology.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
The AAPT provides a CPD scheme free of charge for all members. This includes online learning known as Read, Test and Reflect (RTR) whereby members can answer multiple-choice questions based on relevant articles and guidelines.
Relevant seminars and training courses are CPD credit-rated by the AAPT. For those achieving a high standard of CPD activity, a CPD Certificate Award is granted.
Professional opportunities
The AAPT provides its members with oppportunities to get involved in representing and working for the profession. This includes:
- AAPT Forensic Response Team National Register
- AAPT working groups on education, training, professional standards and publications
- working with external organisations such as the Federation for Healthcare Science.

AAPT conference and events
The AAPT Conference is a major event that takes place every year. Members receive discount on delegates fees and discounts for most other events organised by the AAPT.
