AAPT
(UK) online shop
Some of you will have noticed the new flashing link at the bottom
of the page inviting you to ‘USE OUR ONLINE SHOP, IT GENERATES
INCOME FOR US’.
Here are a few Q&A s as to why its there and why you should
use it.
Q. Whose shop is it?
A. It’s yours, mine, all members of the association. Set up
for the benefit of all of us.
Q. Who does it generate income for?
A. The Association. In other words You, Me all members of the association
Q. How does this benefit me?
A. Every time someone makes a purchase from one of the many retailers
in the shop through the association link they pay the association
a commission or flat fee. The more income we can generate through
other means such as this the less membership fees will need to rise
in the future as we move into the realms of state registration and
eventually separate from the umbrella of the IBMS. So effectively
you are using your membership fees to buy goods and the retailer
pays the association instead.
Q. Can anyone use it?
A. Yes as long as they go to the retailers through our shop front
we will get the commission.
Q. Do the retailers charge more to cover their costs?
A. No. The prices are the same as the internet price through the
retailers own site. There may be offers made available at times
exclusively through the shop though.
Q. What retailers are there?
A. Many high street names such as M&S, BT, Littlewoods, AA,
Butlins, Haven, Barclays, BBC, Hertz, John Lewis, La Senza - selling
insurance, flights, accommodation, white goods, household, electrical,
computing, holidays, lingerie and much more
Q. Who do I speak to if I want to know more?
A. You can contact David Scott, the treasurer, through the link
on the shop front page or through the association website.
