Personal Statement
Despite leaving school for a career in retail and reaching the heights of off-licence manager, 1986 found me working as an Operating Department Orderly. In 1989 a chance discussion with an applicant for the post of trainee pathology technician led to my applying and beating him to the post. After gaining the certificate in 1992 I followed this with the Diploma in 1994 for which I receive the Heggie award leading to promotion to the Senior post in 1995. I now have 17 years experience in post and am delighted to be involved in advancing our profession with the AAPT (UK).
